On
June 30, 2000 Alaina was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). She
spent close to five months in Cook Children’s while being treated for the
cancer and the many complications that arose from the disease. Three months
later she relapsed and had a bone marrow transplant on March 20, 2001. It has
been six months since transplant and Alaina’s prognosis is good.
We
are establishing the Alaina Enlow Fund with proceeds going to the CCMC
Hematology/Oncology department. At Cook Children’s the staff takes pride in
providing quality healthcare in the best surroundings for the patients and
their families. By contributing to the Alaina Enlow Fund, the H/O department
will be able to continue to provide this kind of care. Your donation will help
other children like Alaina fight to overcome the devastating effects of cancer.
